Day 5 - Andre Hut to Natures Valley - 10.8km

I was sad it was our last day but I guess all good things must come to an end!  Today was fairly easy walking although we first had to climb out on to the plateau.  Along the way we encountered what must be the largest baboon any of us have ever seen -  Quite daunting and we were pleased to eventually leave him and his troop behind and we could then relax and enjoy the fynbos and scenic views along the top.  It's a steep descent to the beach at Natures Valley and was somewhat of a shock to find hordes of people around again after having had no real signs of civilisation for some days.  The route goes around the lagoon to the official finish at De Vasselot Restcamp and we totally underestimated just how far this is.  It almost felt like a bit of a damp squib when we eventually signed in and  a little disappointing when we crossed the ‘finish line’ - the archway that I have seen in pictures at the end was gone.  No matter, we know that we finished it and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey!
