We have been experiencing an astonishing rainy season this Summer with huge volumes of rain every day since the beginning of December.  The weather forecast for this weekend in January was looking good and so it was that Richard and I spent a day at Highmoor visiting the Ka Dedakushe Falls.  This is a hidden gem and not many people seem to be aware of it - indeed , it remains hidden until you are almost on top of it.  It has two twin waterfalls, separated by some 100 metres of rocky cliff and these plunge down a vertical face into the valley below.  It was a 15km return hike and we enjoyed the myriad of wildflowers on display and of course the indomitable  Giant dominating the skyline.
A wonderful way to spend my birthday!
